Vintage leather bund strap for Breitling, Omega, Bell & Ross, Pilots, Divers Watch 22mm Black and Brown

This bund watch strap will look great with any 22mm lug sized watch. They are particularly suited to style military watches although not exclusively. This strap has lovely high quality leather fashioned into the classic bund design. This design, I am sure you know, was popularised by German airmen in the Luftwaffe and has become a firm favourite for watch collectors ever since. The leather backing or pad was designed to protect the wearer from extremes of temperature. At high altitude in the freezing cold a steel watch case held firmly against your skin around your wrist was not just uncomfortable but a real danger. The idea of the leather pad also meant that when temperatures soared and the wearer was sweating, the watchcase was protected from that sweat entering the watch. The military provenance of this strap means that watch collectors and military enthusiasts all want a piece of this particular piece of history.
